A/Prof. Duong is demonstrating how to convert environmental wastes into valuable materials for oil spill cleaning and heat insulation applications to: (from left) Singapore Minister of Finance, Heng Swee Keat in March 2016; Singapore Minister of National Development, Desmond Lee in Nov 2016; Singapore Minister for Environment and Water Resources, Masagos Zulkifli in Nov 2016; and NUS President, Prof. Tan Eng Chye in 2018.

Research interests: My research interests include a number of emerging fields such as carbon- based nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene and their aerogels) and their applications for aerospace structures and energy devices, manufacturing process simulations and thermal transport phenomena in small-scale and/or biological systems. The focus of my research is on the science and applications of carbon -based nanomaterials as well as obtaining a fundamental understanding of heat conduction of CNT arrays and CNT-dispersed nanomaterials with industrial interest through experimental and computational studies.
